Small Batch Maple Sugar
Made in Southern Georgian Bay, ON
85 grams in a Resealable Paper Bag
Maple sugar is the oldest indigenous method for making and preserving maple. It keeps for a very long time and doens't require refrigeration. Maple sugar is delicious in coffee and tea and on top of baked fish, squash and fruit crumbles. Maple sugar makes a great substitute for refined white sugar.
Our process:
Made through traditional harvesting practices and relationship to ninaatigwook - maple tree relatives - during the sugaring moon. Harvested in aluminum buckets by hand. Every maple tree was visited, acknowledged and thanked each sap collection. Maple sap is boiled down over fire in a small evaporator, then filtered and bottled. Maple sugar is made from our syrup over the stove.
Made sustainably in small batches.
